I am really excited to share this special wedding. Susan is my wife’s sister and this wedding is very close to our hearts. Susan and Brian have been through a lot together but what makes them strong is each other. They hosted a destination wedding at Bordeaux Game Farm, in Limpopo, close to the border of Botswana. What I love about this wedding was that it was all about the celebration of their love for each other. Guests from all over the world flew in to celebrate together with these two amazing people.
Being a talented hair and makeup artist, Susan did her own makeup and hair, as well as her bridesmaid’s. Her morning was spent having breakfast and chats with her bridesmaids and sisters, while the men took a quick drive down to another part of the farm to do some clay pigeon shooting. We then had a quick, intimate “first look” photoshoot with the bridal couple, just before they headed down the aisle.
The ceremony was short and sweet, their canapé session had lawn games, G&T ice lollies and cakes made from actual cheese wheel rounds! The reception filled with tear jerking speeches and serious dance moves. I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to shoot. It was timeless and just beautiful, filled with lots of gorgeous light, activities, family and great moments! I love all the little details Susan and Brian put into this wedding. I also love that their family members all had something to provide to the day. From jewellery to boutonnieres to bouquets, everything had a touch of family – which made the day even more special.
I was so honoured when Susan and Brian asked me to capture their wedding day. I hope you guys enjoy viewing their wedding story as much as I enjoyed capturing it!
